Bathing your baby - Kaashvi MediDent | Dr. Vipin Jain

Babies are very delicate. They need special care in every term whether it’s eating bathing, sleeping, etc while bathing your baby you have to be more careful as their body is so much soft to hold. You have to take care of sensitive body parts as well like nose, eyes, ear, mouth, neck and fingers.

There are some tips for bathing your baby by the Best Pediatrician in Noida, Dr. Vipin Jain.

  1. A bath twice or thrice in a week is enough to keep your newborn clean.
  2. Wash your baby's face regularly, clean genitals and bottom after each nappy change.
  3. You could add a little mild, liquid baby cleanser or bath emollient to the hard water to protect your baby's skin. Don’t use the emollient much it will make your baby slippery to handle.
  4. Make a time table to bathe your baby every day.
  5. Always use fresh cotton pads to wipe your baby's face, neck creases, and hands.
  6. Start by wiping each of your baby's eyes starting from the corner near nose.
  7. The bathwater is comfortably warm and less likely to scald your baby.
  8. Hold your baby so that her head is over the bathwater and, using your hand or a flannel, massage her scalp with water.
  9. A mild baby shampoo or liquid cleanser can be used. Rinse hair carefully and dry it. Washing hair just once or twice in a week is enough to keep them clean.
  10. After bath gently lifts your baby and wrap them in a soft dry towel.
  11. Make sure the water isn’t too hot. You can take help of your family members to holds your baby while you get in and out of the bath.
  12. Make sure the environment of your room is neither so warm nor cool.
